The Cautionary Tale of Bobbie and the Demon
FADE IN:
EXT. A QUIET SUBURB – DAY
Bobbie is walking home from school with her friend Sarah. She is nervous and clutching her bag tightly.
SARAH
(whispering)
Bobbie, are you okay? You seem really upset.
BOBBIE
(nervously)
I don’t know, Sarah. I just feel… different.
SARAH
(concerned)
Different how?
BOBBIE
(shyly)
I think… I think I might be getting my period.
Sarah looks at her with understanding and pats her on the back.
SARAH
(reassuringly)
It’s okay, Bobbie. It happens to all of us someday.
BOBBIE
(tearful)
But what if it’s not just "someday"? What if it’s today? And what if… what if I’m not ready?
Sarah comforts her and tells her that everything will be okay. They continue walking until they reach Bobbie’s house.
INT. BOBBIE’S ROOM – DAY
Bobbie is sitting on her bed, staring at her phone. Suddenly, she hears a knock on her door.
BOBBIE
(fearfully)
Who is it?
DRACON (V.O.)
(demonic voice)
It’s me, your new friend.
Bobbie hesitantly opens the door to reveal a tall, shadowy figure.
DRACON
(smiling wickedly)
Hello, little one. Don’t be afraid. I won’t hurt you… much.
BOBBIE
(terrified)
What do you want from me?
DRACON
(chuckling)
I came to give you a gift. A special gift for your first period.
He pulls out a small package wrapped in black paper.
DRACON
(sinisterly)
Open it.
Bobbie slowly unwraps the package to reveal a blood-stained tampon.
BOBBIE
(screaming)
What is this?!
DRACON
(smirking)
It’s a symbol of your new life as a woman. And as a woman, you have a duty to serve me.
BOBBIE
(desperate)
No! I won’t serve you!
DRACON
(angrily)
Then you will suffer the consequences.
He raises his hand and strikes Bobbie across the face. She falls to the ground, crying in pain.
DRACON
(mockingly)
Welcome to being a woman, Bobbie. Your body belongs to me now.
INT. HEAVEN – DAY
God is watching over Bobbie, who is lying in bed praying for help.
BOBBIE
(praying)
Please, God. Help me. I don’t know what to do.
GOD (V.O.)
(calmly)
Do not fear, child. I am here.
BOBBIE
(hopeful)
Really? Can you save me?
GOD
(nodding)
Yes, but you must trust in me. And you must repent of your sins.
BOBBIE
(confused)
My sins? What sins?
GOD
(explaining)
Your sin is that you have allowed yourself to be tempted by the devil. But you can be forgiven if you turn away from him and embrace righteousness.
BOBBIE
(tearful)
I’m sorry, God. I didn’t mean to sin.
GOD
(compassionately)
Forgiveness is yours for the asking, Bobbie. Just ask and ye shall receive.
Bobbie closes her eyes and prays for salvation. Suddenly, she feels a warmth wash over her.
GOD (V.O.)
(powerfully)
Your prayer has been heard, Bobbie. You are saved.
BOBBIE
(excitedly)
Thank you, God! Thank you so much!
INT. DRACON’S LAIR – DAY
Drason is standing over Bobbie, who is lying on his altar, bleeding. He smiles wickedly as he watches her writhe in agony.
DRACON
(gloating)
You see, Bobbie? This is what happens when you defy me. You suffer.
BOBBIE
(screaming)
Why are you doing this to me?!
DRACON
(chuckling)
Because I can. Because you belong to me. Because you are mine.
He reaches out to touch her, but suddenly, a bright light shines in the room.
GOD (V.O.)
(powerfully)
I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Drason screams in pain as he is struck down by divine power.
GOD (V.O.)
(calmly)
Go, Bobbie. Go and live a life of righteousness. I will protect you.
Bobbie gets up off the altar and runs out of the lair, tears streaming down her face.
INT. BOBBIE’S ROOM – DAY
Bobbie is kneeling beside her bed, praying.
BOBBIE
(praying)
Thank you, God. Thank you for saving me. I will follow you forever.
GOD (V.O.)
(smiling)
You are welcome, Bobbie. And I will always be there for you.
Bobbie closes her eyes and smiles, feeling safe and loved.
FADE OUT.
